Veteran Rowing Representative Report National Veteran commission meeting held on 2nd February 2008 at the ARA offices in Hammersmith. There are a couple of items I would like to emphasise.

There was discussion about moving the lower age limit for veteran rowing in UK from 31 to 27 to be in line with FISA. The vet representatives were asked to raise this at each regional rowing council to get feedback as to what UK rowers think.

Stephen Denley Hill from Llandaff is proposing to hold a pilot veteran regatta in Cardiff in 2008. It will be divided into three sections of Veteran Novice, Veteran Intermediate and Veteran Master. A paper has been written by him that will be published soon explaining how the event will be run. As soon as I have more details I will pass them on. I am very pleased to see this initiative and hope the West Midlands club will support it. Clubs in other regions will be asked to also run similar pilots.
