PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME

• Regional junior trials– organised by Mike Vetch – unfortunately cancelled due to high water & winds – selections done by MV & JA based on known form and past results – we would both like to suggest that regional juniors wanting to be selected for regional team should attend Stourport Head in Nov, and Worcester SB (or big boats if wanting crew selections) 2 fold reason – (1)support regional events (2) make any cancellation of trials and selection by past results easier

• WCS – is WMRRC approaching WCS about no HP programmes in region

FUTURE / INFORMATION

• Regionalisation Sport England - need to identify Regional/individual Club plans – answers from Ross, Bewdley, Ironbridge, Evesham, Upton, Birmingham Uni, BSRA, Warwick Uni, Warwick STILL NEED INFORMATION FROM ALL OTHER CLUBS -

• Regional Plan – this was very much a rushed job last time – because of the introduction of Regional Sport England delivery, County Sports Partnership delivery and Community Sports Networks, the next regional plan will need input form ALL clubs, Clubs thinking of applying for funding will need to have identified their needs and made sure they are in the WMRRC regional plan, as CSN’s will check to see that clubs are in forward plans for governing body and regionally (especially as CSN’s will have a strong influence on allocation of regional funding)

• County plans will need to be written to help the above process – I have already made a start on these based on previous information supplied from all clubs, but will need to update this asap – so will send out a questionnaire to Clubs, so will need appropriate contacts – see above comments – re clubs replied

• Competition managers – all counties to have these inplace by end 2008 – there WILL be some interaction in the WM between these and ARA – so competition dates, especially for schools don’t clash

• Birmingham/Worcester Universities Sports Coach UK regional coaching centre application – no further news.

• Clubmark clubs need to keep on top of their updates – Sport England are awarding the overseeing of this to a company, Clubmark is recommended for Clubs seeking grants – and those that seek grants should be aware that the ARA is consulted on these.

• Sporting giants – applications and interest – which clubs are interested?

• PE & Sport Strategy for Young People – extending activities (14-19yrs age) – possible use to Clubs if working with local Sport Development Officers as programme is looking at 8-10 week activity programmes that feed into clubs (eg Learn to Row) as part of the governments 5 hour offer schools initiative schools have funding to access for the 3hrs outside school hours (5hrs = 2hrs inside school time, 3hrs outside)

• Volunteering placements – Step into Sport and Volunteer Organisations – a national network is being set up and CSP’s will support the placement of people into clubs – only Clubmark and Club-link programmes

• National School Sports Week – 30th June – July 4th (Henley week) very high profile with new activity launches to raise profile of sport in and out of school – annual event – PDM’s & Competition managers will know what’s happening

• Awards4All application nearly finished for WMRRC – for coach education subsidy
